Resonating with People and Nature Japanese Whisky "Hibiki"
“Creating whiskey that is loved around the world with Japanese sensibilities.” It was the dream of Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii that pioneered the history of whiskey making in Japan. In 1923, Shinjiro began construction of Japan's first whiskey distillery in Yamazaki, a suburb of Kyoto. While learning from authentic Scottish methods, we began a process of trial and error to create a flavor that suits the delicate tastes of Japanese people in Japan's climate and climate.
In order to be accepted by people at the time who were not familiar with Western alcoholic beverages, it was essential to have an excellent blend that captured the trends and tastes of the times. We have created ”Royal” and a number of blended whiskies, and have refined them to match the tastes of the Japanese people.
